We have big plans to build 2 or 3 cabins but the first step was to move the location of the heads from amidships to port side bow.

We spent our Christmas holidays removing the walls and contents of the heads!

Saloon

We cut out some of the previously decommissioned water ballast tanks in the saloon in order to enlarge the sofa and make a larger dining area.

Next we cut out an area in the middle for the table and extended the ends on either side...

Added cupboard doors to access the storage area underneath

Fibreglassed up old holes from the old water ballast

Added a frame at the back to support the new sofa

Extended the bulkheads from where they had been attached to the water ballast wall, to the hull of the boat

Added new support for the floor boards to the newly cut out area

...and painted!

Water Ballast

We are re-commissioning some of the old water ballast tanks, this time to use with drinking water! Instead of installing a pump to pump the water in and out, we plan to let gravity to do the work. Just before we tack, we will open a valve to let the water flow from the windward to leeward side.
